A Good Cause.

If I could ever urge anyone to do anything in thier time at USU it would be service. Today I let the Alpha Chi Omega girls lock me up in a makeshifte prison where I had to raise money until I got enough to pay bail and get out. The great thing is all the money that was raised went to give a scholarship to a victim of domestic abuse. There are opportunities all around to change lives and I encourage you to get out there and make a difference. After, it is the Aggies who change lives around here! Chase

Sick Days

In high school you would pray for sick days, most of the time it was so you could get out of class. Now in college, it is just no fun, especially when you have things to do. USU is a very busy place especially if you are in student government like me. The great thing is that you can combat whatever you have with a few resources. You can go the first route a drink warm ginger ale like dear old Dad taught me whenever you stomach acts up, or you can talk to your doctor. Here on campus we have a wellness center, which is a part of your tuition. Obviously I am not there, but I have been corresponding through email what to do with one of the most amazing members of staff there. I' d like to see customer service like that out of any clinic I ever go to. Make sure to give them a visit! (http://www.usu.edu/health/) I got the medicine down, and this should pass fairly soon. (By afternoon if all goes well) In the mean time here are some things us college kids do in our sick down time, when we aren't praying to the porcelain god.

List.

- Sleep
- Email Professors
- Attempt Homework
- Watch The Price Is Right
- Put the IPod in and attempt more homework, but will probably fall asleep.
- Text. a whole bunch if you are in student government (get a smart phone)

In the end life goes on, and I will live another day to take on this snow. As I will probably be passing out soon I will remember the work needs to get done. Especially by April 29th. Everyone save that day. BIG SURPRISE IN STORE!

your friend,
Chase Casillas

PS Make sure to watch the video on the Wellness Center's home page to see yours truly hanging out with Big Blue!

Utah State Moving UP!

If you have not seen USU basketball has been climbing up in the rankings and it is about time! I'll tell you I never had much spirit for school sports until I went to the spectrum. Honestly it's nuts. My history with the team is a fun one too, as for three years straight housing for some reason kept rooming me with the team, and it brought games to a personal level as I still see my friends owning it on the court. Its a place I feel proud to call home, and I know I am not the only one! Finally a place with enough fighting spirit to match my testosterone level!

Ohhh Fun Times

Hello beautiful internet dwellers,
Don't worry I didn't forget ya, things have just gotten pretty hectic as of late! A lot of great things have been going on lately for myself and USU. First of all it is healthy relationship week here at USU, so in celebration we had a dating game that myself and a good friend (Erik Wynn) got to host. Following that I got to be on a relationship panel that got asked questions on how to maintain healthy relationships. It was overall a pretty great experience. Other events were an Area Government Retreat and the ever so insane Madi Gras celebration we have here at USU. This year I got to work some security for the DJ platform. Which was just overwhelming to look out at all the people dancing their guts out all over the dance floor. If you don't believe that last comment then check out the video below...

Told you, and if you want to see more then don't fret as there will be an episode about it, and there is always the simple solution of filling out that application online and come experience it for yourself. Anyways some of the other things I have going on are some way cool events such as the upcoming ASUSU elections. One I am really excited about is that I have been asked to host the Latino Student Leadership Conference. It is always exciting for me to bust out some of my culture, and even more exciting to be recognized as a leader! Overall this will be a great month and I will update for you again soon!

Be good to each other,
Chase Longino Casillas

January Update and Mixtape. LETS GET IT!

Get a playlist! Standalone player Get Ringtones

So I guess the Holidays have come to an end! So many sick things happened, such as weddings, tons of parties, and of course quality family time. Good thing I was able to make a good time out of it. The time spent in Texas was fantastic. So now I am here ready to start another semester at USU. Already there is some exciting stuff going on, for instance this coming Thursday I have been asked to read at Helicon West at the True Aggie Cafe. I was asked to read a short story I wrote this past semester, which terrifies me because usually its just slam poetry I end up reading. Another thing coming up is the massive snowball fight on Saturday. If you see me run, I will be in full on survival mode at that point. If you think you can take me then I am up for it. So to kick things off I made a mixtape for January of the songs I have been listening to currently. If you like them, maybe, just maybe, I can set you off with some free tunes. You got this, Chase Longino Casillas
